A+ Summer Logic/Math Instructor
Camp Location: Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Georgetown
Camp Dates: various one-week sessions in July and August, 2017
The Logic/Math Instructor is responsible for guiding high school students through Education Unlimited’s logic curriculum and helping students have fun with math puzzles and word games. Instructors teach logic classes daily, and are also expected to assist the camp director with active supervision and recreation assistance. In the past, logic instructors have been math teachers, graduate students, and SAT instructors. Instructors teach classes daily, and are responsible for engaging students with various logic concepts. Instructors will also be responsible for tracking student work and handing in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, instructors should be available and willing to assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks. Instructors are also expected to act as mentors, and will help lead field trips and guide students on excursions. With the support of the entire staff, instructors are responsible for the health and safety of students, in addition to fulfilling instructional objectives.
This is a residential position — room, board, and parking on campus is provided for the duration of the program. We will also consider instructors who wish to commute daily but preference is given for those candidates who are willing to live on campus and assist with dorm supervision. Instructors may be hired for one session or for multiple sessions of this program. Please indicate your availability on your application.
