SAT / PSAT Instructor
Camp Location: Tufts University
Camp Dates: July 18 - 29, 2017
The primary responsibility of the SAT Instructor is to guide students through the Education Unlimited SAT curriculum in a classroom setting and to motivate and encourage students to improve their test-taking abilities. The instructor should be familiar with the substance of the SAT and should be motivated to help students succeed on the exam. The instructor will deliver lectures, lead class exercises, provide one-on-one tutoring, and proctor practice exams. Instructors will also be responsible for tracking student work and handing in any deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, instructors should be available and willing to assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks. Instructors should be mature, reliable, and able to work well with fellow staffers. Instructors are also expected to act as mentors, and may be asked to lead field trips and guide students on excursions. With the support of the entire staff, instructors are responsible for the health and safety of students, in addition to fulfilling instructional objectives.
This is a residential position — room, board, and parking on campus is provided for the duration of the program. We will also consider instructors who wish to commute daily but preference is given for those candidates who are willing to live on campus and assist with dorm supervision. Instructors may be hired for one session or for multiple sessions of this program. Please indicate your availability on your application.
